The Wiesbaden Vikings are sending two teams to the 2016/17 DPL ice hockey season. The DPL (Die Players Liga) is the largest hobby hockey league in Germany with over 1,000 members and nearly 40 teams.

The Vikings “Black” will play their second season in DPL Division 1 after finishing in the top 3 last season. With only 6 teams in Division 1 this year, the top 3 teams from last season will play twice against one another and play the bottom 3 teams only once during the regular season. For playoffs, the top 2 teams in the standings will move directly to the semi-finals while the bottom 4 teams will compete to move on. Vikings 1 first game is Monday, October 24th at 9:15PM in Eppelheim against the defending champions, Kristall.

Being their first season in the league, the Vikings “Red/White” squad will be facing off in the DPL Divison 5. Teams in this division will only play each other once before starting playoffs. The Vikings 2 first game will be Tuesday, October 25th at 8:45PM in Zweibrücken against the KMC Eagles 3.
